"I'm a travel junkie who's hooked on deals from YUL." - Chris Myden

Montreal to Europe | Nov 2014 to Apr 2015 from $588 roundtrip including taxes

Edinburgh, Scotland

Air France and KLM are currently showing some very unusual airfare price drops from Montreal to Europe. By my estimate, they've dropped certain routes around 25-30% below their typical average cost.

Here's how to find and book these flights...

1. Start with a search using Google Flights Explore, from Montreal to Europe:

https://www.ydeals.com/go/google-flights-explore

Look for destinations and date combinations from Montreal to Europe that are in the $500s and $600s (roundtrip, including taxes). Prices on Google Flights Explore are in $USD.

2. Take your destination and dates that you found, and try searching on either of the following airline sites to make your booking:

Air France - Air France Canada

KLM - KLM Canada

You could also try a 3 day flexible date search using Kayak

Prices on the sites above will be in $CAD.

The price drops appear to be concentrated between the date range of November 2014 and April 2015.

Here are some examples of the cheapest destinations I've seen from Montreal, and have verified that the price is actually bookable...
(prices are roundtrip, including taxes)

Luxembourg (LUX) - $580 - just added
Brussels, Belgium (BRU) - $588
Basel, Switzerland (BSL) - $600
Geneva, Switzerland (GVA) - $603
Manchester, England (MAN) - $672
Munich, Germany (MUC) - $675
Birmingham, England (BHX) - $675
Edinburgh, Scotland (EDI) - $675
Glasgow, Scotland (GLA) - $679
Newcastle, England (NCL) - $678
Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) - $688
London, England (LON) - $712

There could definitely be other cities available in the $600s, so it's worth trying various cities in Europe, as the KLM and Air France network covers much of Europe.

Also keep in mind that with Air France you can usually get a free extended stopover in Paris, France. The same goes for Amsterdam with KLM.

Multi City Trips

You may also be able to find some great multi-city trips, involving Paris or Amsterdam, and the destinations listed above.

For these price drops, I've found that Orbitz is a good place for verifying and booking these Multi-City flights. Just change the flight type from Round Trip to Multi-City when you start your search.

Try looking for flights from Montreal to 'X Destination' (from the list above), to Paris (CDG), to Montreal. The price could very well come back in the $550-$700 range.

Or try Montreal to Paris (CDG) to 'X Destination' to Montreal. The price could be low for that as well.

Or try the same thing, but using Amsterdam (AMS) instead of Paris.

How long?

These are not an advertised price drops, so it's impossible to say how long they will last.
