Montreal (YUL) to Tokyo, Japan (TYO)
Tokyo, Japan (TYO) to Manila, Philippines (MNL)
Manila, Philippines (MNL) to Montreal (YUL)
3. For the first and last legs of the journey, try using dates that are similar to the regular roundtrip dates you found.
Play around with the middle date to give yourself more or less time in Japan vs the Philippines.

Try this...
1. Use any decent flight search engine (Google Flights, Skyscanner, Kayak) and change the search type to Multi City.
2. Search for a flight like this one:
Montreal (YUL) to Tokyo, Japan (TYO)
Tokyo, Japan (TYO) to Manila (MNL)
Manila (MNL) to Montreal (YUL)
For the first and third flights, try using the regular roundtrip dates from the list in the blog post.
Often times, with ANA you can create an extended stopover in Tokyo. When it works, it should add about $100 to the price.
