Chicago to Hong Kong to Shanghai, China to Montreal - $476 CAD roundtrip including taxes

There are some interesting open-jaw flights out there, where you would fly from Chicago to Hong Kong (overnight there) and then fly to Shanghai, China (spend time there) and then fly back to Montreal - for a total price of $476 CAD including taxes.
This still leaves you with needing to buy an additional one way flight to Chicago. One way flights from Montreal to Chicago are around $215 CAD.
So the total price for all flights would be $691 CAD including taxes. Not bad for a 3-in-1 trip to Asia. Although realistically, it's a 2-in-1 trip (Chicago and Shanghai), because it's just an overnight stay in Hong Kong. Trying to extend the time in Hong Kong doesn't seem to work (bumps up the price).
If Chicago doesn't interest you, you're probably better off just booking normal roundtrip flights to Shanghai, China which have been around $650 CAD roundtrip lately (Air Canada).

Try one of the following date combinations:
Nov 4 to Nov 6 to Nov 13
Nov 18 to Nov 20 to Nov 27
Nov 25 to Nov 27 to Dec 4
When you click through from Momondo to the booking site, the price should be $350 USD. This will work out to $476 CAD roundtrip including taxes, including the typical credit card foreign exchange fee (2.5%).
