Turkish Airlines has dropped the price of their flights from Montreal to Port Louis, Mauritius down to $905 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Istanbul.
Unfortunately it's nowhere near as crazy of a price drop as when Air France dropped their flights to Mauritius down to $658 roundtrip back in October, but it's still quite a bit cheaper than usual.
The Turkish Airlines flights also have a 10 hour layover in Istanbul each way. You might be better off turning these into a 2-in-1 trip, and extending your layover in Turkey to multiple days. The price is only $20 more.
Most of these flights are also during Mauritius's wet / cyclone season. The dates in April might be the only ones to consider.
If you're wondering where Mauritius might be, well, it's a *long* ways from Montreal.
It's a 15,000km journey, to an island off the Eastern side of Africa, that's even 1,000km past Madagascar!
I've never been to Mauritius, but from the pictures I've seen, it looks pretty incredible. It reminds me a bit of Bora Bora.
Unlike Bora Bora however, rooms don't cost $600/night in Mauritius. A glance at Airbnb shows that the average rental in Mauritius is a much more reasonable $128 CAD /night.
From everything I've Googled, Mauritius does not have Zika.

Note that January to March is Mauritius's wet / cyclone season.
The island has a classic tropical climate with warm weather year-round.
Even in winter, from May to October, the temperature drops from hot to balmy. During summer, from November to April, the days are hot and humid.
