Air China has dropped the price of their flights from Montreal to 8 different places in China down to $586 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Beijing, China.
Of the 8 available destinations, the cities of Chengdu and Hangzhou jump out at me as perhaps the most interesting for tourists.
Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province (as in Sichuan or Szechuan cuisine). It's a laid back city, often considered one of the most livable of China's mega-cities. There's also some pretty amazing mountains about an hour west towards the Tibetan Plateau. Not to mention the giant panda research base (pictured above).
Hangzhou is also a great city for tourists. There's the West Lake scenic area, along with temples, pagodas and interesting hikes. Hangzhou is not far from Shanghai.
