"I'm a travel junkie who's hooked on deals from YUL." - Chris Myden

Montreal to Paris, France - $355 (personal item) to $475 (checked bag) roundtrip | non-stop flights

Paris, France

Primera Air has dropped the price of their November flights from Montreal to Paris, France down to between $355 (personal item) and $475 (checked bag) roundtrip.

The flights are non-stop both ways.

$475 roundtrip is the more realistic price to use when comparing against most traditional airlines, because it includes a checked bag. You are saving about 34% over other non-stop flight options from Montreal to Paris.

The realistic price should probably be even higher than this, because Primera charges extra for meals ($40 each way) and even using your credit card to book the flight ($15).

$355 roundtrip is the unbundled base price, designed to grab your attention through marketing, which only includes 1 personal item (max 25 x 33 x 20 cm).

More and more airlines are 'unbundling' their fares to make their prices appear cheaper than they really are. For better or worse, it's the trend of 2018. Unbundling just means they're taking out things from the advertised price that used to be included, like carry-on bags, checked bags, selecting your seat, and meals.

WOW Air, Icelandair, and Primera Air are the ones to watch out for when it comes to flights from Montreal to Europe that are not actually as cheap as they appear at first.

Ultimately unbundling means you need to do more math. And not get fooled into thinking an advertised price is an amazing one, until you see what the final price tag really is for your needs, and how that compares to other options.

Primera Air has *really* poor reviews, even for a low cost airline. They have a 1.7 out of 10 rating over at Trustpilot.

For comparison, Spirit Airlines, usually considered the worst airline in North America, has a 2.5 out of 10 rating.

Primera Air's biggest issues seem to be a real lack of any customer service, and a lot of flight cancellations or delays.

And the fact that some people may not realize just how bare bones their overseas flying experience will be (no seat back entertainment, no meals unless you pre-paid for them).

Some reviews have mentioned that the legroom on their Montreal - Paris flights has been quite good.
